" Public policy and development professional with over 32 years of experience in public sector in an emerging market and developing country (India). My experience includes working in the field as Chief Executive Officer of a District Government (Zilla Panchayat), District Magistrate in two districts, at the state level as Director of Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation and State Project Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Education for All Campaign), at the national level in the Prime Minister's Office as Director and eventually as Joint Secretary in charge of the social sector, and at the international level as a representative of India on the Board of the World Bank Group at Washington DC.

I have also worked as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr. Siddaramaiah. In this role I aided and assisted the chief minister in discharge of his functions. Particularly, I advised him on staffing of senior and middle management, on policies and programs of the Government.

I have been a Government nominee on the Boards of the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd., Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd., Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., Information Technology Parks Ltd., and a set of Irrigation companies.

I worked as Principal Secretary & eventually as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj department for 5 years.

I am currently working as ACS Finance where I oversee the entire Financial & Treasury Managment of the Government of Karnataka.

I am passionate about education and health policy and governance reform. Had the unique opportunity to be in the Prime Minister's Office when education became a fundamental right and higher education saw unprecedented expansion. Has a role in revamping of the Integrate Child Development Services, emergence of a National Health Mission, and the Food Security Law."
